What are the responsibilities and job description for the Billing Specialist position at Clark Hill?
Clark Hill PLC is hiring a Billing Specialist for the Detroit, MI; Birmingham, MI; Grand Rapids, MI; Lansing, MI; Chicago, IL; and Pittsburgh, PA offices. The Billing Specialist is responsible for (i) the processing of client billings in the format requested; (ii) printing of proformas and/or final bills for attorney review; (iii) researching and answering billing questions for attorneys, operations staff, and clients; and (iv) inputting and updating invoices and uploading documents to the electronic billing system. The Billing Specialist ensures that monthly billing is completed by firm deadlines and processes documents for application of Trust and Retainer funds.
The successful candidate will have an Associate degree in accounting, business, or a related field. In lieu of an accounting or business degree, the candidate may have college level accounting classes with at least three (3) years or more of billing experience in a law firm or professional services environment. Elite 3E, CMS or equivalent accounting software experience required. Proficiency with MS Office is also required. Candidates must be self-directed and thrive in a busy, time-sensitive environment. This position requires flexibility to work additional hours. This position is eligible for overtime pay. Once the successful candidate is trained, this position is hybrid.
The salary range for this position at the time of posting is $55,000 to $65,000 annually, based upon a full-time work schedule. Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to employee qualifications, relevant experience, skill sets, training, internal equity, and market data. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, Clark Hill offers employees the ability to participate in health insurance with optional HSA/FSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, 401K, vacation, sick time, parking/public transportation allowance, and an employee assistance program.
