What are the responsibilities and job description for the International Trade Analyst position at Clark Hill Law?

Clark Hill PLC seeks to hire an International Trade Analyst for its Washington, DC office. Applicants must have demonstrable experience using SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and conducting statistic and economic analyses. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with U.S. Department of Commerce antidumping and countervailing duty investigations. This is not an attorney position.

Clark Hill’s International Trade Analyst will consult with attorneys in the international trade practice to:

  • prepare AD/CVD questionnaire responses and costs/sales databases in coordination with respondent clients,
  • construct anticipated dumping margins using economic modelling (e.g. SAS),
  • identify and resolve key factors of production driving margins,
  • assist foreign exporter clients to optimize compliance with U.S. trade laws and to lower AD/CVD risk exposure, and
  • assist attorneys draft the economic arguments in briefing.

The successful candidate will be organized, self-motivated, and able to handle matters of a complex nature which require patience, creativity, and discretion. Candidates must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, and have a demonstrated ability to prioritize work in a dynamic environment while meeting deadlines.

Requirements include an undergraduate or professional degree, along with familiarity with SAS and basic business, accounting, and financial statements. Degrees in Economics or Statistics preferred but not required. Fluency in Spanish preferred. At least one year of international trade experience (Department of Commerce, Customs and Border Protection) preferred.

While Clark Hill’s international trade practice is primarily located in Washington, DC, flexible location may be available to the right candidate with a proven ability to maintain high-quality work on an independent basis.

The salary range at the time of posting is $85,000 - $150,000 annually, based upon a full-time work schedule. Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to, employee qualifications, relevant experience, skill sets, training, internal equity, and market data. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
