About The Role
Clark Hill PLC is seeking a is seeking an individual for the role of Cash Applications Specialist for its Pittsburgh office. The Cash Applications Specialist works for the Cash Applications group which is responsible for the daily processing of client payments and supports collections and billing to ensure accurate and timely reporting . This is a hybrid position, requiring the Cash Applications Specialist to be in the office through a probationary period and then at least three days per week.
Required Skills And Experience
The salary range at the time of posting is $19.23 - $24.04 hourly/$40,000 - $50,000 annually, based upon a full-time work schedule. Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors, including but not limited to employee qualifications, relevant experience, skill sets, training, internal equity, and market data. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition, Clark Hill offers employees the ability to participate in health insurance with optional HSA/FSA, short term disability, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, 401K, vacation, sick time, parking/public transportation allowance, and an employee assistance program.

Required Skills And Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Finance role or other related and relevant experience or an associate’s degree required.Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field preferred.Experience in the legal field highly valued.
- Proficient in navigating ERP system to post cash, review client accounts, and run accounts receivable reports.
- Utilizes advanced Excel skills such as pivot tables for data analysis, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP for matching and functions like SUMIF/COUNTIF for reconciling payments.
- Familiar with bank lockbox, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card/eCheck processing platforms.
- Ability to identify discrepancies in payments, resolved “unapplied cash,” and communicate with banks, attorneys, administration team, collections, and billing to resolve issues.
- Match client payments with outstanding invoices (Cash Application) and reconciling bank statements with A/R records.
- Apply daily cash receipts, wire transfers, and credit card payments to corresponding client accounts and invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Utilizes external payment systems to identify incoming payments for the timely application of cash, and to navigate between payments and remittance advices to determine correct application.
- Reconciles daily cash receipts to bank deposits.
- A track record of excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service; and
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, communication skills, prioritization skills, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.
- Understands and follows Firm policies and procedures related to financial risk.
- Must have sound judgment and business acumen when interacting with internal and external clients.
