About the vacancy The Northwestern Local School District is seeking applicants for the position of Superintendent of the district in anticipation of the retirement of Jeff Patrick. The Board anticipates the new administrator taking office on August 1, 2026, with the search assistance of the Clark County Educational Service Center. About the district The Northwestern Local School District covers 68 square miles in western Clark County and a small portion of southern Champaign County. The district is located on Ohio State Route 41, just west of the city of Springfield and northeast of the city of New Carlisle. 1,612 students attend the district each day. The district operates a PreK-6 building, Northwestern Elementary School, and a 7-12 building, Northwestern Junior/Senior High School, as well as a preschool program and comprehensive athletic and extracurricular programs. About the Community The Northwestern district is located in Pike and German townships and the communities of Lawrenceville, North Hampton and Tremont City. The district enjoys a supportive community and the partnership of parent- teacher and booster organizations. In 2009, the community generously approved a combined bond issue and 1-percent continuing earned income tax. The District recently built a $3.4 million Athletic Complex.
