Help Build Portland’s Most Exciting New RTH from the Ground Up
Residential Support Specialists Wanted (All Shifts Big Growth!)

Job Overview
We’re not just opening a Residential Treatment Home… we’re building the future of trauma-informed care, and we want YOU as a founding member. Clarity Place is a brand-new, small, intentional RTH in Portland for adults with mental health needs. This is Day One. Everything: from daily activities and resident programming to systems, culture, and how we deliver care. All of this is being created right now.

If you’re someone who gets fired up by building instead of just maintaining, this is your chance to help shape a model home that other providers will study and copy.

Activities & resident programming will be HUGE here.

  • Love planning activities and helping residents live full, purposeful days
  • Want to be part of something brand new and help it become the gold standard
  • Take pride in excellent documentation, communication, and safety systems
  • Have a growth mindset that's interested in advancing into Shift Lead (evenings only).
  • Leadership roles as we expand

We’re not doing “sit and watch TV” care. We will actively engage residents with full scope of life engagement and care.

What you get in return:

  • A leadership team (Administrator Assistant Administrator) that’s on-site and 100% invested in your success.
  • Real opportunities to co-create policies, programming, and culture.
  • The satisfaction of knowing you helped launch a home that changes lives, for residents and the team.

Duties

  • Planning and preparing meals, cooking with residents and other team members.
  • Community outings, life engagement, and life-skills activities.
  • Goal-focused programming based on individualized Residential Service Plans (RSPs)
  • Creative, fun, and meaningful ways to build independence and joy every single day.
  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity.
  • Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure residents' health stability.
  • Provide specialized care for residents with mental illness and behavior presentations. Please note training on behavioral care will be provided.
  • Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional planning to promote healthy eating habits
  • Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids to ensure safe transfers and prevent injuries
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning resident areas and common spaces
  • Document resident progress and communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding changes in condition or behavior
  • Drive residents when needed for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety and adherence to transportation protocols

Are YOU who we are looking for?

We’re looking for engaged team members - not just fill-in care staff.

The most successful candidates will bring ideas, energy, and a true teamwork followership mindset. People who believe in person-centered, trauma-informed care and want to treat every resident with dignity, choice, and respect. People who are excited to document wins, run smooth shifts, and help create systems that make this house feel like a pleasure to work in. If you possess or are interested in growing the following skill-sets, we're a great match.

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments.
  • Knowledge of mental health and behavior health (additional training will be provided).
  • Valid driver’s license for transportation duties; clean driving record preferred (for driving staff) / reliable transportation to and from the site.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

Non-Negotiables:

  • Passion for trauma-informed, person-centered mental health support.
  • Reliability, strong communication skills, and a collaborative spirit.
  • Kindness, compassion, and strong boundaries.
  • Willingness to complete and maintain comprehensive training.
  • Clean background check (we’ll guide you through Oregon’s process).
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic first aid certification; CPR certification, or the ability to obtain CPR certification.
  • Oregon Food Handler's card, or the ability to obtain a Food Handler's card.

Open Positions – All Shifts Available:

  • Day Shift (6a–2p)
  • Evening Shift (2p–10p)
  • Night Shift (10p–6a) – 2 staff
  • Part-time, on-call, and PRN roles for flexibility

If you’re tired of the same old facility grind and you’re ready to build something special with a team that actually cares… hit “Apply” and tell us why you want to be one of the founding members of Clarity Place.

We’re not hiring employees; we are building a team to make a movement.
