Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to determine functional limitations and physiotherapy needs.
- Develop and implement tailored care plans that incorporate therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, trigger point therapy, and other modalities.
- Assist patients with mobility training, pain management, and recovery strategies across various settings including acute care, geriatrics, pediatrics, orthopedics, and community care.
- Coordinate discharge planning and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions from hospital to home or community environments.
- Document patient progress accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems while maintaining detailed treatment records.
- Educate patients and caregivers on injury prevention, physical therapy exercises, and self-care techniques to support ongoing recovery.
- Stay current with advancements in physiology knowledge, anatomy understanding, and physiotherapy practices to deliver cutting-edge care.
Requirements
- Valid licensure or certification as a licensed Physical Therapist in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Experience in outpatient clinics
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and therapeutic techniques including trigger point therapy.
- Experience with discharge planning processes and developing effective care plans for diverse populations such as geriatrics and pediatrics.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and patient management.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with healthcare teams and educate patients effectively.
