Duties
- Safely operate various commercial vehicles, including box trucks and other heavy-duty vehicles with manual transmissions, to complete scheduled deliveries.
- Load and unload packages using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary, ensuring items are handled with care.
- Follow designated routes accurately and efficiently, adapting to traffic conditions to meet delivery deadlines.
- Interact professionally with customers during deliveries, providing friendly service and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery confirmation records.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory management, moving stock within the facility, and supporting team members as needed.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles preferred.
- Proven courier or delivery driver experience, with knowledge of route planning and navigation tools.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks related to loading, unloading, moving packages, or equipment handling.
- Experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus but not mandatory; training can be provided.
- Familiarity with warehouse procedures and safety protocols is advantageous.
