What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Assistant/Receptionist position at Clarity Family Eyecare LLC?
We are a young, modern optometry practice with an emphasis on creating a culture where patients and team members feel they are part of a family. Daily responsibilities include front desk duties, verifying insurance, pre-testing, and other day-to-day office tasks to help the practice run seamlessly.
We are looking for a candidate who has exceptional communication skills as a team player, has the ability to multi-task, and can provide a positive experience as they work with our team and patients. This would be a long-term and full-time position with flexibility and an opportunity for growth. We strive to provide a great working environment and are family-oriented. Experience in optometry or ophthalmology is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Compensation is commensurate with experience, and team members are eligible for retail commission on optical sales.

Responsibilities include:
Patient Care & Clinical Support
- Greet and prepare patients for exams
- Perform pre-testing (autorefraction, fundus photos, visual fields, etc.).
- Assist the optometrist during exams and procedures as needed.
- Educate patients on contact lens use and care.
- Maintain clean, organized exam rooms and testing equipment.
Front Desk & Administrative Duties
- Answer phones, schedule and confirm appointments.
- Check patients in/out, verify insurance, and collect payments.
- Handle patient correspondence, recalls, and follow-up communication.
- Manage office and clinical supply inventory, including contact lens trial inventory
Customer Service
- Provide friendly, professional assistance to all patients.
- Explain procedures, office policies, and optical services clearly.
- Resolve basic patient concerns or route them appropriately.
Office Presentation
- Keep reception and clinical areas clean and welcoming.
- Support smooth patient flow throughout the office.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
