Learning Analyst (Technical Training)

Clarity Consultants is partnering with a leading oil and gas company on an exciting training transformation initiative, and our learning team is growing.

We’re seeking an experienced Learning Analyst to define the scope, structure, and learning requirements for a comprehensive Basic Console Training (BCT) curriculum for Control Room Operators. In this role, you'll analyze an existing Job Task Analysis (JTA) to identify the knowledge, skills, and competencies required for successful job performance, determine which existing enterprise learning assets can be leveraged, and identify gaps requiring new learning solutions. You'll collaborate with subject matter experts and project stakeholders to develop a curriculum framework that serves as the foundation for curriculum design and subsequent instructional development.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the existing Job Task Analysis (JTA) for Console Operators to identify required knowledge, skills, and performance expectations.
• Define the scope and structure of the Basic Console Training curriculum.
• Identify learning objectives and recommend curriculum sequencing based on job performance requirements.
• Determine which existing enterprise training modules can be incorporated into the curriculum.
• Identify content gaps and recommend new learning solutions where existing materials do not meet training needs.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and project stakeholders to validate learning requirements and performance expectations.
• Document curriculum recommendations, learning pathways, and content requirements for the development team.
• Provide recommendations for instructional approaches, delivery methods, and learner assessment strategies.
• Support project planning by identifying development priorities, assumptions, dependencies, and potential risks.

Start Date: ASAP (Onboarding begins August 10, 2026)

Potential Extension: Yes. Opportunity may transition into an Instructional Designer role

Hours: Up to 40 hours per week; hours will be determined based on project needs

Required Qualifications

• Experience as a Learning Analyst conducting front-end analysis, curriculum analysis, or training needs assessments.
• Previous experience as a Console Operator within the Oil & Gas industry, preferably Upstream Operations.
• Ability to analyze job task analyses and translate operational requirements into learning requirements.
• Experience collaborating with technical subject matter experts and cross-functional project teams.
• Strong facilitation, documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as both a Learning Analyst and Instructional Designer.
• Experience developing technical training curricula for industrial or operational environments.
• Knowledge of competency-based training methodologies and performance-based learning.
• Experience supporting operator qualification or technical workforce development programs.

Ideal Consultant

• The ideal consultant combines operational knowledge of Oil & Gas console operations with expertise in learning analysis. They are comfortable working with technical subject matter experts, analyzing complex job requirements, and defining learning strategies that serve as the blueprint for effective curriculum development. Consultants with both Learning Analysis and Instructional Design experience are highly desirable, as there is potential to continue into the curriculum development phase.

The pay range for this is $60.00 to $65.00 per hour W2. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, relevant education, certifications and specific work location.
