POSITION SUMMARY
Provide for the leadership and training of new staff to demonstrate support and implementation of the Center's Treatment Philosophy of Dignity, Respect and Understanding when caring for the patient. Must demonstrate initiative, care and attitude conducive to effective functioning for the therapeutic milieu. Expected to learn the basic knowledge and skills for Collaborative Problem Solving.

EDUCATION/TRAINING EXPERIENCE
- HS diploma or GED, some college preferred
- Six to eight months related experience, or combination of experience and training

- First Aide, CPR
- SAMA
THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION
- Greeting families, assisting as needed with admission, and directing clients to assigned rooms in PHP
- Provides information to Director and Lead Clinician, other departments, families, and staff regarding patients in the program
- Performs general administrative duties for Director of PHP and PHP Lead Clinician
- Monitor and maintain patients, groups and milieu safety during proper implementation of treatment plan
- Demonstrate competency in Collaborative Problem-Solving core areas within established time frames:
- Introductory concepts and attitudes
- Triggers and Pathways
- Plans A, B and C
- Milieu Assessment Plans
- Demonstrates developmentally age-appropriate communication, activities interventions for patient groups for 6-8 patients without assistance
- Demonstrates knowledge of psychiatric medications including benefits and side effects.
- Implement experiential groups, maintaining therapeutic relationship
- Maintain therapeutic relationship and appropriate boundaries
- Orients patients to the Center, unit, program and encourages them to participate in social and recreational activities
- Demonstrate effective communication with families and clinical team reporting pertinent information regarding patient symptoms to charge nurse.
- Document appropriate and sufficient information on daily shift change checklist patient checklist and progress notes.
- Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of Special Treatment Procedures
- Identify and implement the following P&P:
- Elopement Precaution
- One-to-One coverage
- Involuntary Time Out
- Patient Rights
- Precaution I and II
- Restraint and Seclusion
- Activity Restriction
- Demonstrates competency in SAMA techniques and utilizes least restrictive interventions
- Safely transports and monitors patients while off campus
