What Good Care Looks Like

Good care is specific. It is the right medication, for the right person, at the exact right time, and someone following up to make sure it actually worked.

That follow-through is where the system usually breaks down, and it is where Clarest steps in. We manage medication for patients across long-term care, assisted living, and at home, building the technology that keeps all three connected so no one gets handed off and forgotten.

None of that happens without the people doing it, which is why we hold ourselves to the same standard with our own. Paid time off increases the longer you are here, life insurance is company-paid, and for associates who enroll in our health plan, a dedicated nurse advocate and no-cost telehealth extend to eligible dependents as well. Careers here move in more directions than most people expect, and many of our leaders started in the roles we are hiring for now.

Be the quality champion behind safer pharmacy operations and better patient care

The Quality Improvement Technician plays a vital role in strengthening pharmacy quality, safety, and service by investigating pharmacy occurrences, documenting findings, identifying trends, and supporting process improvements across the organization. In this role, you'll research discrepancies, communicate with internal and external partners, maintain quality records, and collaborate with pharmacy teams to improve workflows and resolve issues. Pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, healthcare facilities, caregivers, and ultimately patients all depend on this role's attention to detail, analytical thinking, and commitment to continuous improvement to help ensure safe and reliable medication services.

Unlike many Quality Improvement Technician roles that focus primarily on dispensing, fulfillment, or medication preparation, this position centers on quality, investigation, and process improvement. Working in a closed-door pharmacy environment dedicated to serving long-term care and post-acute care communities, you'll help identify opportunities to improve operations, investigate service and medication-related concerns, and support initiatives that enhance patient safety and customer satisfaction. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, research, and driving meaningful improvements that impact both pharmacy performance and patient outcomes.

What You'll Do

Help improve pharmacy quality, patient safety, and operational excellence through investigation, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Receive and document pharmacy occurrence and discrepancy reports.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations and provide findings to the PIC and/or General Manager for follow-up and review.
  • Enter pharmacy occurrences into the Quality Improvement database.
  • Follow up with internal and external customers by phone or email to address questions, requests, and quality-related concerns.
  • Escalate issues that may adversely affect patient care to the PIC.
  • Ensure all communications and documentation are objective, factual, accurate, and complete.
  • Support the evaluation and continuous improvement of pharmacy services, policies, procedures, and workflow.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to identify and improve workflow processes.
  • Assist with Order Entry, Call Center, and onboarding functions as needed.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect confidential patient information.
  • Complete required compliance training and follow all applicable company policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties and participate in special projects or training as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer skills required, along with a solid grasp of medical terminology, math, and analytical skills
  • Active pharmacy technician registration/license in good standing as required by state regulations
  • Experience with data entry, SIG codes, and alpha-numeric data entry required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology, drug knowledge, pharmacy processes, mathematics, and analytical skills

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Minimum of one (1) year working in a long-term care pharmacy preferred but not required
  • Quality Improvement experience preferred

  • Willingness to learn new things
  • Demonstrates strong teamwork skills by actively contributing to group efforts, communicating openly, and supporting colleagues to achieve shared goals
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment by quickly adjusting to changing priorities, new tasks, and evolving business needs with a positive attitude
  • Consistently arrives on time, meets deadlines, and maintains dependable attendance, ensuring steady support for team and business operations

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or move up to 55 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Near-vision acuity and color distinction is required
