What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ag Teacher position at Clarendon CISD?
Agriculture Teacher
Primary Purpose:
Provide instruction in agricultural science while developing student leadership through classroom learning, hands-on experiences, and participation in National FFA Organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education or related field
Valid teaching certification (Ag Science)
Knowledge of ag systems (animal, plant, mechanics, agribusiness)
Responsibilities:
Teach agriculture courses and deliver engaging, hands-on instruction
Advise FFA chapter and prepare students for competitions/events
Supervise student SAE (Supervised Agricultural Experience) projects
Maintain ag facilities (shop, greenhouse, land lab) and ensure safety
Manage program resources, inventory, and budget
Communicate with students, parents, and community partners
Additional Expectations:
Sponsor student travel and activities (evenings/weekends required)
Participate in school duties and professional development
