Role Summary:
The Lead Full Stack Developer will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions for SectionStar, a mechatronic device. This role is multi-disciplinary with responsibility for ensuring all front-end and back-end components of our applications are scalable, robust, and user-friendly. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience optimizing web development frameworks, databases and cloud services. We are looking for a team player who views medical device development as a competitive advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and build the user interface to the device
- Implement modern web UI using latest technology and best practices
- Create formal documentation for a FDA process
- Develop and execute unit and system tests of prototype designs
- Mentor junior developers, provide guidance, and help resolve technical challenges
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality results
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Masters degree a plus
- 6 years of professional experience in full stack development
- Proficient in front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js)
- Strong back-end development skills with experience in Node.js, Python, Ruby, Java, or similar languages
- Experience with databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar
- Familiarity with Graph QL and RESTful API design and implementation
- Knowledge of version control systems (ex: Git)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience with microservices architecture, a plus
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools (JIRA, Trello), a plus
- Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio of personal projects, a plus
- Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks, a plus
- Prior experience integrating and interfacing with Clinical Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) or similar healthcare information systems, a plus
- Prior experience developing vision systems for process and quality control applications, a plus
- Prior experience working on data security and ensuring compliance with HIPAA requirements, a plus
