Role Summary:

The Engineering Technician will be working on medical device development and integration as part of a tight knit team. This role is multi-disciplinary with responsibility for assembling mechanical, electro-mechanical, and optical subassemblies and integrating them into the final flag-ship product. In addition, the candidate should be able to assemble, install and troubleshoot wiring components, having a strong understanding of electrical systems. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate manufacturing equipment and machinery according to established procedures and safety guidelines
  • Interpret standard work instructions, technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints to build and troubleshoot multiple assemblies
  • Perform precision assembly tasks using a variety of methods, including hardware such as screws, bolts, and fasteners, as well as adhesives, to ensure accurate and secure assembly of components
  • Perform the installation, routing, and termination of electrical wiring systems according to design specifications and industry standards
  • Utilize a variety of hand and power tools to cut, strip, crimp, and connect wires and cables
  • Conduct quality control inspections at various stages of the production process to ensure product integrity and adherence to standards
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and electrical systems to identify and resolve issues efficiently
  • Work with computers and software to operate, monitor, and troubleshoot automated test equipment and diagnostic systems
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep machinery in optimal condition
  • Collaborate with engineers, other team members and supervisors to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to product assembly and wiring configurations
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, technical certification or vocational training preferred
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience, medical device, electro-mechanical, or optical experience
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow industry standards and internal work instructions, specifications, and engineering drawings
  • Experience with computer systems and software applications used to control, run, and diagnose engineering test equipment.
  • Familiarity with operating machinery and tools used in production processes
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
  • Strong knowledge of electrical wiring principles, techniques, and safety standards
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Excellent problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Flexibility to work in fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485 standards, a plus
