Responsibilities
- Maintain constant visual observation of assigned patients to prevent falls, injuries, or other safety incidents.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to patients, helping reduce anxiety and promote well-being.
- Assist with basic activities of daily living as directed by nursing staff, including repositioning or providing comfort measures.
- Monitor patient behavior and report any changes or concerns promptly to the healthcare team.
- Ensure the safety of patients by adhering to hospital protocols and safety procedures at all times.
- Document observations accurately in patient records and communicate relevant information during shift handovers.
- Support hospital staff by providing non-clinical assistance that enhances patient experience and safety.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in home & community care or hospital settings is highly desirable.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to respond effectively in emergency situations.
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate patient care with a focus on safety and attentiveness.
- Experience with critical care transport or hospital environments is preferred for candidates seeking advanced responsibilities.
- Strong observational skills and the ability to remain alert during long shifts are essential.
