What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Nursing Assistant/CNA position at CLARA BARTON HOSPITAL?
We are looking for energetic and compassionate night shift CNAs to join our growing nursing team! The CNA performs routine patient care activities for the acute, swing bed patients to promote their comfort and contribute to their individualized patient care plan.
Functions:
- Provide direct patient care
- Perform patient care activities such as answering call lights to determine patient’s needs and assist the patient as indicated. The position requires bathing, dressing, and undressing of patients: serving and collecting of food trays; feeding patients that require help; monitoring patient intake and output; and transporting patients upon admission or discharge.
- Provide personal and daily living care for swing bed patients. This includes bathing, dressing, and undressing patients; serving and collecting food trays and feeding requiring help; transporting residents or assisting them in ambulation; getting them in and out of bed and turning in bed; providing hair, fingernail, and toenail care; and shaving and providing oral hygiene. This position assists with and encourages patient participation in programs and activities.
- Assist with rehabilitative exercises; monitoring and documenting intake and output; collect specimens; address hygiene needs; and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse and respiratory rates, and weights.
- Report any observed changes in patient condition.
- Perform general nursing floor activities to assist nursing staff in completing their work.
- Interact and work cooperatively with co-workers, patients, and residents to insure a positive environment
- Follow safety and aseptic procedures to insure a safe and clean environment.
- Follow confidentiality policies and procedures to assure the integrity of nursing services.
- Train and pass computer competency testing on all modules needed for patient documentation and accessing.
