Warehouse Worker

I. Job Summary: Performs various tasks to receive materials, put up stock and pull orders.

II. Reporting Relationship: Warehouse Manager

III. Duties and Responsibilities:

• 1. Unloads trucks delivering shipments and checks orders received with packing list.
• 2. Reads customer order, work order, or shipping order to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
• 3. Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage up to 16 feet high on to other designated areas by hand, handtruck or electric handtruck, two-wheel truck, pallet jack, forklift and roll grab.
• 4. Sorts and places materials or item on racks according to predetermined sequence (over 100 pounds with assistance).
• 5. Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets (up to 2,000 pounds).
• 6. Installs warehouse racks by hooking beams into upright posts up to 14 feet above floor.
• 7. Wrap and tape customer orders.
• 8. Assist in loading shipment of customers, drivers of company vehicles, and freight lin trucks.
• 9. Assists drivers in making deliveries, when required, due to weight of carton.

IV. Other Duties:

• 1. Sweep warehouse floors and parking lot areas.
• 2. Empty trash containers into dumpster daily.
• 3. Repack paper boxes when damaged by freight lines.
• 4. Performs shipping and receiving duties.
• 5. All other duties as assigned by supervision or management.

V. Qualifications and requirements:

• 1. Requires basic math skills.
• 2. Ability to communicate in English.
• 3. Requires warehouse experience and ability to lift up to 100 pounds, as well as the ability to use the following machines:
• A--Forklift
• B--Electric pallet truck
• C--Manual pallet truck
• D--Two wheel hand truck
• E--Banding machine
• F--Electric and manual tape machine
• G--Handtools
• H--Rolling stepladder
• I--Telephone
• J--Four wheel handcart
• 4. Physical requirement: Requires vertically translating stock weighing seventy-five (75) lbs. from four (4) inches to fifty-eight (58) inches, up to twenty (20) times per hour. Requires horizontal translation of same distance of twenty (20) ft. without mechanical assistance, up to then (10) times per hour. Requires use of hand tools using force of thirty (30) lbs.
• Horizontally translating stock with mechanical assistance requiring force of fifty (50) lbs., a distance of two hundred (200) ft., up to five (5) times per hour.
• Requires horizontal translation of stock to position for lift. Requires force of thirty (30) lbs. in stationary body position, up to five (5) times per hour. Must access stock in areas with thirty-six (36) inch headroom.
• 5. Visual acuity required: Leve A. (See Job Description Worksheet).
• 6. Hearing acuity is on level explained in Job Description Worksheet (Physical Activity, paragraph Q.).
• 7. Physical activity includes: climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

VI. Working Conditions: This job is subject to both inside and outside weather and temperature changes, extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees) and extreme heat (over 100 degrees), noise, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and oils. Pay: From $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
