JOB SUMMARY:
The Accounting Assistant performs clerical and entry-level accounting activities.
QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the essential functions of this job while exercising appropriate levels of judgment and discretion.
- Intermediate Level of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Attention to detail with strong emphasis on accuracy
- Strong communication skills with the ability to relate to various groups of internal and external customers
- Attention to detail with strong emphasis on accuracy
- Strong verbal/ phone skills
- The ability to maintain confidentiality
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma
- 2 Years' experience preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Must be able to operate normal office machinery
- Must be able to work in a usual office environment
- Must be able to perform intermediate level math calculations
- Must be able to communicate clearly with internal and external customers in person, by telephone, and by email
- Must be able to file effectively both numerically and alphabetically
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Maintain sales by state spreadsheet
- CGC PO coding and data entry
- Compile the CGC payables list and generate supplier checks
- Highlight and sort AP invoices
- Reconcile vendor statements
- Monitor email accounts
- Complete general filing
