Cable Department Tech

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The Cable Department Technician assumes responsibility for the everyday workflow of the Cable Department by testing and packaging of all cables and cable related equipment to assure quality control.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong communication skills with the ability to relate to various groups of internal and external customers as well as supervise employees.
• High level attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in cable systems trouble shooting techniques.
• Ability to excel and adapt in a fast-paced, client driven, demanding environment.
• Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude under sometimes challenging conditions.
  
  

EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma.
• 2 Years' experience preferred.
  
  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Work with colleagues to complete the daily workflow.
  
  

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Perform check-out of all cables and cases.
• Prioritize workflow based on production calendar.
• Follow documented procedures to ensure that all cable related products pass all visual and mechanical tests before being cleared for field use.
• Record inventory transactions daily in the ERP system.
• Maintain all cable checking equipment in good working order as well as schedule or perform preventive maintenance and upgrades to test equipment in a timely manner.
• Operate the cable tester when necessary.
• Promote the maintenance of a clean and safe workspace.
• Assist other departments as required.
