COMPENSATION
Hourly Pay Range: $31.663636 - $41.171480
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.
JOB DETAILS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Clackamas County's Social Services Division is seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Administrative Specialist 2 to provide advanced administrative support to executive leadership. This position plays a key role in supporting division operations by coordinating projects, preparing reports and correspondence, managing confidential information, and improving administrative processes. The Administrative Specialist 2 serves as a trusted resource for leadership, staff, and community partners while helping ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services that support the residents of Clackamas County.
The ideal candidate is an organized, detail-oriented professional with exceptional communication and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. We are looking for someone who exercises sound judgment, maintains confidentiality, demonstrates initiative, and enjoys collaborating with diverse teams to provide outstanding administrative support and customer service.
Required Minimum Qualifications/Transferrable Skills:*
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills to perform the responsibilities of this position.
- Two (2) years’ experience providing high level administrative support to multiple programs or departments.
- Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability.
- Demonstrated experience optimizing Microsoft Office Suite and other web-based platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of building rapport across diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications/Transferrable Skills:*
- Experience working in a healthcare or social services setting.
- Experience with complex data entry including timely and accurate entry into spreadsheet and databases.
- Experience establishing and maintaining record keeping systems.

TYPICAL TASKS
Executive and Administrative Support
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Social Services Director and executive leadership team.
- Manage complex calendars, coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take meeting notes, and track action items.
- Draft, edit, and distribute correspondence, reports, presentations, and other business documents.
- Coordinate travel, special events, and other administrative activities as needed.
Project, Program, and Operational Support
- Coordinate division-wide projects, initiatives, and special assignments, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
- Research, compile, and analyze information to support operational planning, decision-making, and continuous process improvement.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor spreadsheets, reports, dashboards, and tracking systems.
- Assist with budget tracking, purchasing, contract administration, invoice processing, and other operational functions.
Records, Communication, and Confidential Support
- Maintain electronic and paper records in accordance with County policies and records retention requirements.
- Provide confidential administrative support related to employee and labor relations matters, exercising sound judgment and discretion.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for staff, County departments, community partners, and the public by responding to inquiries and facilitating communication.
- Build collaborative working relationships and provide exceptional customer service while supporting the day-to-day operations of the division.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position works part time up to 28 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Thursday. Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
This position is primarily designated as on-site/in-person. It is expected that the selected candidate will perform duties at the specified on-site work location.

Employees must work a minimum of 30 hours per week to receive full benefits. Employees working 20 - 29 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits for themselves and family members.
