Executive Teller


SUMMARY

Maintain a high level of professional, friendly, efficient service in all areas of responsibility. Perform as a highly motivated employee giving support to customers, co-workers and supervisor. Balance transactions daily, provide for the security of assigned cash and maintain a high level of safety for the bank. Adhere adherence to banking policy, audit and banking regulations.


Completion of Teller Phase I-III. Perform Teller duties with limited supervision. Demonstrate the ability to interact with customers in a professional manner and handle situations of a complex nature. Ability to accept complex assignments and complete them accurately in a timely manner. Ability to perform daily higher check cashing limits and limited signing authority if required.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Contact Skills

  • Make and maintain eye contact
  • Greet customer by his/her name
  • Use customer name during the transaction
  • Smile when communicating
  • Thank customer as he/she leaves
  • Listen for opportunity to cross-sell


Sales/Referrals:

Sell bank services and refer business to the bank

Stay current on and support marketing efforts

Responsible for ensuring that individual calling goals are met


Work Performance

  • Meet established attendance standards
  • Adhere to the posted times for breaks, lunch, etc so work flow is consistent
  • Cooperate when asked to help others
  • Take initiative to ask for additional work
  • Offer suggestions to improve efficiency
  • Adhere to operational procedures
  • Demonstrate knowledge of product/service when explaining to a customer
  • Take initiative-listen for opportunities to offer products and services
  • Demonstrate techniques for establishing priorities
  • Accurately input information using the BankRite system
  • Answer the phone within 3 rings, identify the bank, self, ask caller how CCB can help them
  • Adhere to confidentiality policy
  • Dress appropriately and professionally


Teller

  • Balances cash drawer daily and maintains a balancing record in accordance with CCB standard of 95%,

with unlocated outages not to exceed $150 per 12 month period.


Customer Service

  • Interview customer to obtain information and explain available financial services such as

savings and checking accounts, IRA, Certificates of Deposit, Savings bonds and securities.

  • Rent, close, and assist with helping the customer enter the safe deposit area.
  • Acquire and accurately enter customer information onto the computer system.
  • Answer customer questions, investigate and correct errors.
  • Help customer with applications for ATM card, VISA Check Card, and other loan requests.


Operations Support

  • Assist with prioritizing teller related duties to ensure efficient operation of the branch.
  • Help evaluate work for completion, accuracy; efficiency and assist with locating outages, etc.
  • Demonstrate the ability to assume higher check cashing limits.
  • Demonstrate the ability to accept limited signing authority
  • Assist with training new tellers as needed
  • When training, present information with enthusiasm
  • Assist with compiling and accurately reporting all financial data required by govt. regulations.
  • Help to ensure the branch follows security guidelines including opening and closing procedures, double

custody areas, etc.


QUALIFICATIONS

Individuals in this position must have successfully completed the Executive Teller Program. They must maintain skills on teller row and in customer service. They must also be willing to go to other branches and fill in as needed.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


INTERNAL EDUCATION

Keep current on learning about bank services and products. Successfully complete all assigned reading materials and required compliance training.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest rates on bonds, certificates of deposit, percentages, and other bank related calculations.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand (approximately 80% of the day), talk and listen. The teller frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The teller is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The teller must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


INTERPERSONAL RELATIONS

In this team oriented environment, the teller regularly interacts with others on the teller row, in customer service, in the branch and in the bank. The teller is expected to take the initiative to help see that the work is done and to help research or solve problems. The teller is also expected to be flexible; be willing to accept and implement changes in procedures; and offer suggestions to improve the process. Because of his or her experience and knowledge, the teller should be very open and willing to help develop knowledge, technical skills and a sense of teamwork with new employees.


COMPUTER SKILLS

Have an understanding of and be able to apply computer skills to communicate effectively within the organization using word processing to format letters or correspondence; set-up and maintain electronic folders and files; and send/save attachments. Depending on the position, have a basic understanding of accounting software to develop reports and forms such as spreadsheets/tables etc.


Be able to use email for communication (internal and external), access outside websites as well as interface with the Bank’s network.
