L1 BESS Technician

Overview:

CKS Solution Inc is a leading solutions provider in the electrical service industry, specializing in battery energy storage systems (BESS). We are seeking a dedicated Renewable Energy (BESS) Technician to join our team. Our teams service and travel within the US, Latin America, and Canada. Our mission is to deliver innovative technical solutions to help our customers transition to the future grid powered by renewable energy.

Role: L1 Battery (ESS) Technician

 This position requires weekly full-time travel!

Key Responsibilities:

·      Work on various solar and battery systems

·      Implement firmware updates and replace modules

·      Conduct hot/cold commissioning and troubleshooting

·      Charge and discharge Samsung batteries

·      Follow all health and safety policies to maintain a zero-incident workplace

·      Complete routine safety documentation (tailgate meetings, electrical work permits, etc.)

·      Perform technical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance to maximize performance

·      Execute energization/de-energization procedures and follow LOTO plans

·      Interpret schematics and blueprints

·      Conduct quality assurance inspections and document deficiencies

·      Adhere to OEM maintenance requirements, company standards, and industry best practices (NETA MTS, CSA Z463, etc.)

·      Provide daily digital reporting and documentation of work performed

·      Work both independently and in a team environment

• Work On-Site Full-Time
• Travel Most Weeks

·      Participate in on-call weekend services on a rotating schedule

·      Provide feedback on issues and the development of projects

·      Willingness to work overtime as needed

Qualifications:

·      High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

·      Post-secondary education with an electrical or mechanical engineering-related degree (Preferred)

·      Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial/Systems, Comp..) (Preferred)

·      Experience using Battery Monitor

·      Proficient in using Excel, Microsoft Office, PDF, Email, downloading/Uploading

·      ABET/EAC certification (an asset)

· State-certified Journeyman license (an asset)

·      Working at Heights Training, OSHA training/certification (an asset)

·      Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn

·      Digital literacy with proficiency in mobile apps and software (Excel, Word, Outlook, report writing)

·      Attention to detail and a firm commitment to safety

·      Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)

·      Ability to lift 70-100 lbs

·      Ability to work at heights, on ladders, platforms, and in cramped spaces with constant standing and kneeling

·      Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and geographic regions

·      Valid Driver's License and clean driving record

·      Ability to complete a drug test and background check upon employment offer
