About the Role
We are seeking motivated students or recent graduates from programs in Environmental Management Systems EMS, Geology, Natural Resource Management, Biology, or related environmental and life science fields. This position is ideal for individuals interested in applied environmental fieldwork, compliance activities, and industrial environmental management. All technical skills will be taught on the job, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain hands on experience in the environmental sector.
This role includes annual performance reviews and requires candidates to complete a preemployment physical, drug screen, and MVR evaluation.
Required Skills and Competencies
(All skills will be trained on the job)
- Water discharge permit compliance sampling; DMR preparation and submittals
- Quarterly monitor well sampling and LDEQ report preparation
- Soil sampling using a Geoprobe™ and/or manual hand auger
- Laboratory bottle preparation and chain-of-custody documentation
- Hazardous, nonhazardous, and E&P waste management, including:
- Waste profiling and profile sampling
- Labeling and documentation
- Logistics coordination
- Refinery safety training and periodic refinery site visits
- Obtain and maintain TWIC certification
Minimum Education and Experience
- Pursuing or holding a B.S. in Environmental Management Systems, Geology, Natural Resource Management, Biology, or a related environmental or life science field
- Minimum GPA: 2.75
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass MVR screening
- Ability to meet physical and safety requirements for fieldwork
- Relevant environmental experience (private or government) is not required, but considered a plus
- Any relevant experience related to environmental fieldwork, compliance, sampling, waste management, or similar roles
