Substance Use Disorder Technician
Reports To:

Required Qualifications:

- Current valid driver’s license

Position Summary:
This role supports patients in the residential unit by striving to enhance the care environment and promote positive changes in their recovery. The position is accountable for maintaining patient safety, transporting patients, and managing patient behavior effectively to prevent escalation.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet new patients upon admission and complete all tasks associated with the admission process.
- Assist patients in becoming accustomed to the residential routine and encourage them to participate in activities to promote recovery.
- Interact with patients during social and recreational activities and facilitate educational programs.
- Observe patients to prevent wandering from designated areas, and to identify unusual behavior.
- Address patient behavior appropriately to prevent escalation issues from occurring.
- Transport patients to appointments, meetings, and recreational events, and record trips in the logbook.
- Assist patients with unit chores and help maintain the cleanliness of the unit and Tech's station.
- Maintain patient files and keep prepared for site visits.
- Complete urinalysis and breathalyzer testing as required.
- Take and record vital statistics, such as pulse, temperature, and respirations.
- Observe patient self-administration of medication and ensure proper signatures are recorded.
- Assist with assessments, screens, admissions, and discharges.
- Comply with all CKF policies and procedures and related clinical licensure policies
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Based on an 8-hour day
- Sit – Frequently 2.5 – 5.5 hrs daily
- Stand - Frequently 2.5 – 5.5 hrs daily
- Lift/Carry 0-10 lbs. - Frequently 2.5 – 5.5 hrs daily
- Lift/Carry 10-50 lbs. - Ocasionally .25 – 2.5 hrs daily
- Walk - Ocasionally .25 – 2.5 hrs daily
- Drive - Ocasionally .25 – 2.5 hrs daily
