Level 1 – This position has only limited access to patient medical information for purposes of preparing meals for special dietary requirements, no access to employee medical information other than his/her own.

Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED or 1-3 months related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at time stressful environment
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with employees and patients
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Knowledge of food preparation methods, techniques, and cooking principles.
- Understanding of kitchen safety and sanitation standards.
- Proficient in preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of foods.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times.
Prepares and cooks family-style meals for residents and employees of CKF Addiction Treatment, keeps kitchen work areas in safe, clean and orderly conditions, by performing the following duties.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist with Kansas Food Code compliance
- Maintain kitchen and storage facility and keep prepared for site visits
- Cook foodstuffs in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served
- Sweep and mop kitchen floors
- Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, and cutting boards
- Wash pots, pans, trash, and other dishes
- Wipe down dining room tables, chairs and other surfaces
- Refill containers including salt, pepper, napkins, cereal, etc.
- Store foods in designated areas with proper containers and labels
- Serve meals
- Plan menus taking advantage of foods in season
- Order supplies and keeps records and accounts
- Oversee loading or unloading of delivery trucks
- Pick up and deliver supplies and food
- Complete inventories, place orders and maintain records in compliance for Kansas Food Bank and State Food Commodities programs
- Manage the ordering, receipt and compliance of USDA commodities and food bank donations
- Other duties as assigned
Based on an 8-hour day
- Sit – Occasionally .25 – 5.5 hrs daily
- Stand – Frequently 2.5 – 5.5 hrs daily
