What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Writer Parts Technician position at CK Power?
CK Power is looking for a Service Writer/Parts Technician at our Wichita, KS location. In this position, you’ll be empowered to make decisions on behalf of CK Power, keeping in mind safety, ethics and the liability of the company, day to day as pertains to keeping the service department pipeline full and the throughput of work through the shop and field.
What You’ll Do:
· Take incoming service calls and collect the needed data from the customer for the Service Department.
· Open “Service” jobs.
· Schedule and coordinate utilizing logistics a team of shop and field technicians.
· Create estimates, assist sales team with estimates if needed.
· Coordinate all parts needs for the technicians, i.e., order, receive, stock in inventory, shipping in some cases to a remote technician.
· Create purchase orders and reconcile them when materials arrive.
· Create “Sublets” when needed and reconcile after vendor has completed work.
· Look over technician narratives for service jobs, ensuring they are easy for the customer to understand, and ensuring all required material is on the jobs, and sign off for the jobs to be invoiced.
What You’ll Need:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· 3-5 years of relevant experience.
· The ability to deal with many different personalities, from a homeowner to the industrial building maintenance manager.
· Ability to work with limited supervision.
· Demonstrated ability to act as a leader of people or process.
