What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Grain Elevator Operator position at CK Farms?
CK Farms needs to hire an elevator operator to work at our grain elevator during corn and soybean harvest. Corn harvest will begin mid-September and soybean harvest should conclude in November, depending on weather. Hours will be from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Tasks include weighing trucks, completing scale tickets, collecting grain samples, measuring grain moisture, entering information in Excel, monitoring grain bin levels, changing bins, communicating with truck drivers, sweeping in the elevator, occasionally shoveling grain spills.
We will train how to do all of these tasks. Most of the tasks are not physically or mentally demanding, and we try to minimize grain shoveling. There's a fair amount of sitting and waiting interspersed with plenty to do when trucks arrive.
