Job Summary And Qualifications
As an LPN-LVN Extern, you will be a valued part of the nursing team, using your growing skills and hands-on care to help deliver safe, compassionate patient care. As you advance in your LPN-LVN program and build your expertise, you’ll have opportunities to take on more complex procedures and make an even greater impact on patients’ lives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting patients with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), monitoring vital signs, and supporting patient mobility and comfort
- Performing nursing tasks like wound care, catheter management, and non-medicated procedures as your skills develop
- Documenting patient information, observations and changes, and communicating important updates promptly to the nursing team
- Helping patients and families understand their care plans and preparing them for recovery through clear, compassionate education
- Maintaining a clean, safe patient environment by following safety protocols, managing equipment, and responding quickly to patient needs
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Currently enrolled in Practical Nursing program
