Job Summary And Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of radiation therapy technology Certification in Radiation Therapy
Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
Preferred: BS degree in related field
LICENSURE:
Required: ARRT Board certified and participates in professional society
Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: Two years clinical experience in similar department

Job Summary And Qualifications
- Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients.
- Verify prescribed treatment dose before treatment, verify fields to be treated and angles to be used.
- Assure placement of protective devices in order to shield otherwise healthy exposed tissue of patients
- Place and immobilize patient to ensure accurate treatment. Maintain constant visual and intercom contact with the patient during treatment to assure patient remains in the proper position
- Observe patient for unusual reaction and report any abnormal conditions to the radiation oncologist.
- Chart treatment details in the patient’s medical record.
- Provides verification films on each patient treated.
- Check treatment records daily and weekly for mathematical or documentation error.
- Provides appropriate teaching to patients and families.
