Job Summary And Qualifications
- Maintain cleanliness in patient areas and administrative offices with daily wet and dry mopping, vacuuming, and spot removal to tiled and carpeted floors. Wash ceilings, walls, light fixtures, windows and air vents.
- Dust horizontal surfaces, damp wipe furniture, empty wastebaskets. Make patient beds, replenish room supplies. Scrub bathroom tile and fixtures. Perform checkout cleaning where applicable.
- Remove trash and soiled linen (utilizing body substance precautions). Place in utility room for later pickup and transport to designated areas for compacting, incineration, or laundering.
- Maintain hospital equipment in sanitary condition. Request all repairs (structure, equipment, furniture, and fixtures) required to appropriate personnel.
- Perform as necessary: cleaning of elevators and stairwells, assistance in removal of emergency spills, meeting room set up and take down.
- The position of Housekeeping Aide as an integral part of hospital support services is capable of completing any departmental task in compliance with hospital infection control, emergency, fire, and disaster plans.
- Experience: Previous hospital experience preferred. Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
