ABOUT THIS POSITION:
The Cook position will provide meals for the adolescents and act as a role model reinforcing the adolescent’s treatment plan. The Cook will supervise all boys working in the kitchen and dining room. Cater special events as determined by the agency. Ensure physical safety of youth and provide Crisis Intervention
  • Prepare and serve meals
  • Assist in vocational program
  • Assist in keeping equipment and facility clean
  • Supervise all boys working in the kitchen and dining room
  • Accept incoming deliveries
  • Prepare and assist agency catering special functions and holidays
  • Behave Ethically: Understand ethical behavior and business practices, and ensure that own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization
  • Focus on Client Needs: Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of internal and external clients to meet or exceed their expectations within program parameters
  • Ability to communicate, cooperate and serve people from all cultural identities with respect, professionalism, integrity and fairness in a manner that recognizes the individuality of each person
  • Foster Teamwork: Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance program effectiveness
  • Regular and consistent attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
SCHEDULE AND RATE OF PAY:
  • Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 11:00am-4:00pm
    • 20 hours per week
  • Rate of pay is $22.00 per hour
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent - Required
  • Food Service experience - Minimum 1 years' experience
  • ServeSafe Food Handler certified or ability to be certified
  • Strong interpersonal skills with youth and co-workers
  • Personal Effectiveness/Credibility
  • Communication Proficiency
  • Collaboration Skills
