Sheridan MN is looking for a mechanically inclined, detailed oriented individual to join our team as a Folder Operator. In this vital role, you will be a key player on our 3rd shift - performing a variety of tasks surrounding the set-up and operation of a folding machine that folds sheets of paper into 4, 8, 12, 16 and 32-page sections.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Set up machine and perform quality folding that meets expectations.
- Load sheets into machine and stack signatures; pull skids in and out of work area.
- Read and understand work order verifying correct bind type, bulk, trim size, margins and run lengths.
- Understand signatures, substrates, bulk, PPI, sig size, trim size, and specified margins.
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs to machine and auxiliary equipment.
- Assist maintenance personnel with machine repair.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Six (6) months of manufacturing or related experience.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read, do basic math and work with basic tools (screw drivers, wrenches, etc.)
- Ability to read a ruler and understand/use metric system.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to do basic trouble shooting when the equipment is not functioning.
- Ability to work with the following tools or machinery:
- Micrometers
- Calipers Scales
- Pallet jack and lift
- Measuring device
- Retractable Knife
- Scraper
- Wrenches
- Air hose
- Hand tools
- Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime and other shifts required.
- Prompt and reliable attendance required.
- Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions and write in English.
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in a factory environment with regular exposure to dust, dirt, noise, and the physical hazards of machinery, plus some exposure to fumes, oils, lubricants, and chemicals
- Safety toe shoes required
- Hearing protection required
- Must be able to stand/work 8 hours with overtime hours as needed
- Ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull 25lbs. on a regular basis
