Bindery Material Handler

Sheridan Liberty 

3rd Shift (11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Sunday–Thursday) Base rate $0.80 per hour shift differential.

2nd Shift (3:00pm - 11:00pm, Monday-Friday) Base rate $0.50 per hour shift differential.   

                              
Full-time | Overtime and occasional weekends required.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders and verbal instructions to determine materials or components required

• Lay, feed, or pile down materials at equipment as directed

• Jog product off counter stacker and stack neatly on skids for smooth transfer to the next department

• Separate signatures, count, weigh, and record materials handled on daily production sheets

• Complete skid flags and packaging slips for accurate tracking

• Install strapping, bracing, or padding to secure materials during transit

• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials, or mark information on containers

• Stack or assemble materials into bundles and secure with banding equipment

• Occasionally operate automated equipment, industrial trucks, or hoists to assist with loading and moving materials

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of warehouse layout, item identification codes, and storage procedures

• Ability to feed, stock, move, jog, arrange, unload, and rotate items on/off bindery or finishing equipment

• Ability to complete stock description forms, unit counts, and labeling requirements

• Skill with manual dollies, carts, hand trucks, and tools for material handling (hammers, pliers, strapping tools, stretch wrapping tools, etc.)

Desired Skills

• Experience operating bindery or production machinery in a printing or manufacturing environment

• Familiarity with industrial safety standards and practices

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and move around for extended periods of time

• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 20 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently

• Ability to bend, twist, and reach in various positions to complete tasks

• Ability to work in a noisy environment while using required protective equipment

• Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
