Summary of Position:
This position supports the Finance Department in preparing complex financial, economic, and strategic analysis in support of corporate objectives, long-term planning, and business development matters. Key areas of responsibility include capital formation and management, long-term planning including scenario analysis, internal and external presentations, peer analysis, M&A analysis, financial reporting, and compliance reporting,
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Manage the maintenance and improvement of corporate financial forecasting, NAV, M&A and other tools.
- Manage FA team for each business unit as well as corporate FA team.
- Encourage cross-functional collaboration between planning and operations to improve forecasting quality and operational performance feedback
- Analyze M&A and other strategic opportunities in partnership with Business Development, Operations, and external advisors and prepare evaluations/presentations for Executive and Board discussion.
- Provide financial analysis to support decision making on operational matters including asset development optimization, inventory management, etc.
- Coordinate with the Financial Planning group and Accounting to benchmark actual results vs. budget and provide related analysis on a monthly basis.
- Assist with Company’s hedging program and related scenario analysis.
- Participate in the development and implementation of finance policies and related software intended to standardize reporting, forecasting, modeling, and other information.
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong Accounting knowledge, particularly interpretation of financial statements.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including complex modeling, valuation, returns and budgeting.
- Experience with financial data analytics tools such as FactSet.
- Strong organizational skills with significant attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.
- Willingness to participate as part of a growing team environment with an assortment of personnel across various disciplines.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently.
- Experience with financial planning and oil and gas development planning software is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Manage three or more direct reports across financial planning and finance groups.
- Develop direct reports through goal setting, workflow management, and education.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics required.
- Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years’ progressive experience in finance and managerial positions within energy required.
- Investment banking experience is a plus.
Travel Requirements:
- Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
- Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday.
