Full-Time RN SupervisorSkilled Nursing Facility – ConnecticutPosition SummaryThe Full-Time RN Supervisor provides essential clinical leadership and oversight for nursing operations across assigned shifts in our skilled nursing facility. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, this role supervises licensed and unlicensed nursing staff, ensures delivery of high-quality, resident-centered care, maintains regulatory compliance with Connecticut Department of Public Health (CT DPH) and federal CMS standards, and supports overall facility goals for safety, quality, and efficiency on a consistent, full-time basis.Open Shifts:7:00AM-3:00PM3:00PM-11:00PM11:00PM-7:00AMKey ResponsibilitiesSupervise, direct, and coordinate daily nursing activities and staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs) on assigned units or facility-wide during shifts, including staffing assignments, delegation, and performance monitoring.Conduct regular rounds on resident units to assess conditions, evaluate care delivery, verify medication administration, treatments, wound care, and documentation for accuracy and completeness.Oversee direct resident care, including complex procedures, IV therapy, pain management, and emergency interventions; respond promptly to changes in condition, incidents, or acute needs.Ensure full compliance with federal (CMS), state (CT DPH), and facility policies, including infection prevention, resident rights, safety protocols, restraint reduction, and accurate record-keeping.Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (therapy, dietary, social services, physicians) to develop, implement, and update individualized care plans and address resident needs holistically.Manage admissions, transfers, discharges, and related processes; coordinate with external providers as needed.Provide mentorship, education, and support to nursing staff; address performance concerns, promote teamwork, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.Participate in quality assurance/performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives, incident reporting, root cause analyses, and preparation for surveys or audits.Serve as a clinical resource during shifts and report significant issues or trends to the Director of Nursing or Administrator.QualificationsCurrent, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Connecticut (required).Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or geriatric settings; prior supervisory, charge nurse, or leadership experience strongly preferred.Thorough understanding of CMS regulations, CT DPH standards, infection control practices, and long-term care best practices.Strong clinical assessment, leadership, communication, delegation, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and make sound decisions in dynamic environments.Proficiency in electronic health records, documentation systems, and Microsoft Office.BLS certification required; additional certifications (e.g., IV therapy, wound management) preferred.
