CivilSurv Design Group, Inc. (CivilSurv) is seeking an experienced Survey Project Manager to lead and manage land surveying projects from concept through completion in our Lakeland, Port St. Lucie, or Vero Beach offices. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) or a highly experienced SIT on a licensure track who is ready to take on leadership responsibilities, client management, and high-level technical oversight. You will guide project delivery for municipal, FDOT, public infrastructure, and land development clients while mentoring staff and supporting the continued growth of our surveying practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead all phases of survey project delivery, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and quality control.
  • Oversee the preparation of boundary surveys, topographic surveys, right-of-way maps, control networks, ALTA/NSPS surveys, LiDAR/UAS mapping products, and construction survey deliverables.
  • Conduct in-depth review and approval of survey calculations, plats, legal descriptions, survey exhibits, technical reports, and CAD deliverables.
  • Provide advanced technical guidance related to boundary resolution, deed and right-of-way research, geodetic control, and complex survey methodologies.
  • Develop project-specific survey approaches and ensure proper application of GNSS, total station, digital leveling, LiDAR, and UAS technologies.
  • Coordinate project activities with engineers, CAD technicians, field crews, subconsultants, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing clear communication, progress updates, and high-quality service.
  • Prepare proposals, fee estimates, project schedules, and assist with business development opportunities.
  • Mentor and support project surveyors, CAD staff, SITs, and field crews by providing training, technical guidance, and professional development.
  • Promote a collaborative, team-focused environment and help maintain CivilSurv’s quality, safety, and performance standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center, and related survey processing tools.
  • Strong understanding of Florida boundary law, right-of-way principles, deed research, and survey-related statutes.
  • Experience developing and reviewing survey deliverables including calculations, plats, legal descriptions, and technical reports.
  • Skilled in managing field and office workflows involving GNSS, total stations, digital leveling, LiDAR, and UAS data.
  • Proven ability to lead survey teams, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey technical information clearly to clients and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with experience overseeing multiple projects, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ability to support business development efforts through client communication, proposal development, and quality client service.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geomatics, Surveying and Mapping, or related discipline (preferred).
  • Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) license in Florida required or ability to obtain within 3 months through licensure by endorsement.
  • 8 years of progressively responsible survey experience, including project management responsibilities.
  • Experience leading survey projects for municipal, transportation, utility, or infrastructure clients.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to support occasional field operations.
