Job Description
Most important requirement is experience working with Optimizely as a CMS, working with it in the frontend
Fullstack Engineer (6-7 years of experience) with C#/.NET, Node.js, or Java in the backend
Typescript as the #1 preferred in the frontend but will take React or Javascript
- Project
- Optimizely experience is a must have CMS product-- at least a couple of years of experience with this, 3 minimum with Optimizely
- Looking to extend the optimizely platform for users, and then this data to reflect on the website
- They do a headless system, treat the CMS as just data, pull this and can use for just data and can print to the same content
- Experience
- Optimizely itself is a C#-- so the majority of candidates will be this
- Entire front end is TypeScript
- If they have the experience with Architecture that'd be great, but it's not a must have considering the level of candidate they're looking for
- Soft skills:
- More of a heads down coder is good
- Light on the morning/status updates
JD:
As an individual contributor and key technical authority, you will be responsible for the strategy, technical health, and execution of modern front-end development and full-stack solutions at GCC. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in React, Next.js, and headless CMS architectures—serving as our resident Optimizely expert—with a proven track record of leading digital initiatives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will focus purely on code quality, system architecture, and mentoring, driving exceptional results through best practices without the responsibilities of direct people management.
What You'll Do
Technical Leadership: Demonstrate technical leadership with hands-on accountability for the end-to-end delivery of modern web solutions. You will guide solutions from technical design through development, automated testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
Modern Web Architecture: build sophisticated, customer-facing web applications using Next.js and React. You will leverage server-side rendering, static site generation, and other modern web patterns to deliver exceptional performance and user experience.
System Health & Metrics: Drive system improvements by tracking performance against KPI and SLA targets for each API using internal System Metrics Baselines. You will regularly use the Architecture Decision Record (ADR) process, the Richardson Maturity Model, and internal System Quality Guidelines to measure and maintain API and overall system health.
Full-Stack Collaboration: Collaborate with back-end teams working with C#, .NET Core, SQL, Docker, and Redis to create cohesive full-stack solutions. You will deploy modern web applications to the cloud using Azure, implementing CI/CD pipelines and ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Requirements
Extensive experience in software development with a significant focus on front-end engineering.
Experience with headless CMS platforms, Optimizely, including content modeling, API integration, and content delivery strategies.
Strong experience with React and Next.js in production environments, including expertise in server-side rendering, static site generation, API routes, and performance optimization.
Deep understanding of modern JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
Full-stack capability with experience in back-end technologies (C#/.NET, Node.js, or Java) and an understanding of API design and integration.
Experience with front-end state management solutions (Redux, Context API, Zustand, etc.) and when to apply them.
Ability to architect scalable, performant, secure, and reusable front-end solutions and component libraries.
Knowledge of web performance optimization, accessibility standards (WCAG), and SEO best practices.
Experience with modern front-end tooling (Webpack, Vite, etc.) and testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright, Cypress).
Capability to communicate and collaborate across the wider organization, influencing technical decisions and partners without direct reporting authority.
Strong understanding of Domain Driven Design, SOLID principles, and Design Patterns as they apply to front-end architecture.
Azure or other cloud platforms experience (Google Cloud Platform, AWS).
Bachelor's degree in computer science, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with content preview and editing experiences in headless CMS environments.
Experience with design systems and component library development.
Knowledge of GraphQL and modern API patterns.
Understanding of Web Vitals and Core Web Vitals optimization.
Contributions to open-source projects or technical writing/speaking experience
