Transportation Engineer

Overview

As a Transportation Engineer for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), in Pittsburgh, PA, you will work within our Civil/Site Practice as a member of our Transportation Group. You will work with project teams on the transportation needs for our commercial, institutional, industrial, and energy clients. Your primary focus will be developing PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) drawings and applications, preparing local driveway permit applications, and coordinating with local municipalities regarding roadway bonding and inspection requirements. You may also analyze collected traffic data, perform traffic analyses, and design improvements for a wide variety of projects across our region and the nation. You will work with a team of experienced Project Managers and supporting staff to develop solutions for our clients and interact with local and state government officials.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil or Traffic Engineering (or a related field);
• 4 years of professional engineering experience;
• E.I.T. required, P.E. is a plus;
• Experience with PennDOT, ODOT, or WVDOH permitting;
• Traffic analysis and design experience is a plus;
• Strong planning and task prioritization skills;
• Ability and desire to mentor staff; and
• Willingness to learn new skills and work in a team setting.
