Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive landscape designs using advanced software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhinoceros 3D, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Land surveying techniques.
- Create detailed drawings, renderings, and presentations utilizing Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Creative Suite to communicate design concepts effectively.
- Conduct site analysis incorporating GIS tools like ArcView and ArcGIS for accurate land use planning and environmental impact assessments.
- Prepare construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates for hardscape elements including paving, retaining walls, fencing, and irrigation systems.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, civil engineers, horticulturists, and project managers to ensure designs are feasible and meet project deadlines.
- Oversee project implementation by reviewing construction progress, conducting site visits for quality assurance, and ensuring adherence to sustainable design principles.
- Assist in land surveying activities and coordinate with civil engineering teams to integrate infrastructure components seamlessly into landscape plans.
- Support landscape maintenance planning and provide guidance on landscaping best practices to promote long-term sustainability.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Licensed or Registered Landscape Architect with a strong portfolio of diverse projects including commercial, residential, or public spaces.
- Extensive knowledge of landscape design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino 3D, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and GIS platforms like ArcGIS or ArcView.
- Familiarity with construction processes related to landscaping projects—estimating costs, scheduling work phases, and coordinating with contractors.
- Solid understanding of horticulture principles combined with expertise in sustainable design practices that prioritize environmental stewardship.
- Ability to interpret land surveys and civil engineering plans while integrating irrigation systems and land grading solutions effectively.
- Strong project management skills with the capacity to oversee multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
