Civil Design, Inc. (CDI) is a multi-disciplined civil engineering firm offering civil site, structural, land surveying, and GIS services. Since its founding in 1996, our team has grown to over 150 team members with six locations. We operate in three states serving our six service lines - Infrastructure Analytics, Site, Structures, Survey, Transportation, and Water Resources. We have office locations in Missouri – St. Louis and Jefferson City, Illinois – Collinsville and Effingham and Kentucky – Louisville and Prestonsburg.
We are looking for a Civil Engineer – Roadway Designer/Project Manager to support our CDI mission in Building Stronger Communities. By leading roadway projects and guiding the next generation of engineers, you will support our mission and developing a better tomorrow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and plan production of roadway, highway, ADA compliant sidewalk and multi-use facilities.
- Review and provide roadway design elements including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, intersection layout, drainage design, pedestrian facility design, utilities conflict and relocations, as well as other roadway design tasks.
- Work collaboratively with CDI leaders, and other Project Engineers to develop effective project solutions.
- Mentoring and teaching team members.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong technical skills in transportation engineering and roadway design.
- Experienced in working with governmental clients in Kentucky, Missouri and/or Illinois.
- Proficiency with Microstation with experience in Open Roads Designer (ORD).
- Experience with Highway/Roadway Plan Production.
- Strong technical skills in roadway drainage design.
- Good communication skills.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a four-year college or university.
- PE strongly encouraged.
- 6 –18 years’ experience.
This role can be based out of any CDI locations The travel for this position is up to 10%.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $75,000-$135,000/year. Compensation will vary based upon relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
