Civil Design Consultants, Inc. (CDCI) is a professional civil engineering company with offices located in Andover, MA and Plaistow, NH. We provide land surveying, land planning, design, and permitting services to the real estate development community throughout the Merrimack Valley and Southern New Hampshire. This is an entry-level opportunity to join our engineering team and grow into a well-rounded site development engineer. You will work directly with our Project Managers and Principals on a steady mix of residential and commercial site development projects across Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We invest in our junior engineers — you will receive consistent mentorship, exposure to the full project lifecycle, and a clear path toward licensure and increased project responsibility.
Primary Duties:
- Supporting Project Managers in the preparation of site development plans — including site layout, grading, and drainage design — using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Preparing local land use application materials and supporting documentation (Planning Board, Zoning Board of Appeals, Conservation Commission, and similar local boards).
- Assisting with stormwater calculations and supporting drainage analyses using HydroCAD.
- Drafting design narratives, technical memos, and other supporting documentation for permitting submittals.
- General coordination and support of project deliverables under the direction of senior engineers.
Ideal Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (or related).
- 0–3 years of experience performing similar duties.
- EIT certification preferred (or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions, take initiative, and learn quickly.
