Civil Carpenter Helper

Civil Construction Contractors, LLC, is currently seeking Industrial Carpenter Helpers to work throughout Southeast Louisiana. Candidates must possess good general knowledge of interior carpentry capable of the means and methods regarding all facades of interior remodeling work in an industrial environment. All work performed will be in the industrial workplace. Industrial construction experience preferred but not required. Candidates must have a valid TWIC card and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Candidates must be capable of assisting with the following:

• Lay out work

• Grade work

• Staging forms

• Setting forms

• Carry lumber and re-steel

• Cutting lumber, steal and other construction materials

• Assist in setting re-steel

• Cleaning work areas and maintaining equipment and tools

• Assist in concrete placement

• Assist all other disciplines as needed

Candidates must possess the following abilities:

• Communicate clearly

• Safe operation of hand and power tools.

• Repetitive use of hands/arms, and legs

• Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds

• Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis

• Carry up to 50 lbs. or assist with up to 100 lbs. Ability to safely walk on uneven surfaces and other adverse soil conditions.

• May be required to work in confined spaces

• Decision making skills necessary

• Detail-oriented; must be able to remember, examine, and observe details

Safety Requirements:

• Candidates must understand and potentially learn to identify and avoid all safety hazards related to the work.
• Candidates must adhere to all safety rules, policies and procedures designated by safety.
• Remain actively involved in JSA procedures and audits. Physical Requirements: Climbing of ladders, stairs, and structures.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
• Carry up to 50 lbs. or assist with up to 100 lbs. Ability to safely walk on uneven surfaces and other adverse soil conditions.

All candidates must be able to pass a DISA pre-employment drug screen & alcohol test, physical and DISA background security check.
