Ambulance Dispatcher

Citywide Mobile Response is a fast-growing ambulance company with over 50 years of service. Based in the Bronx and serving all five boroughs of NYC, we are seeking a dynamic, reliable, and compassionate Dispatcher to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Answer and process all incoming calls promptly and professionally.
• Gather essential information from callers to ensure accurate dispatching and documentation.
• Triage calls to determine priority and appropriate response level.
• Provide clear instructions and communicate effectively with callers during stressful situations.
• Monitor, update, and track the location and movement of field units.
• Serve as a resource for healthcare facilities and other agencies utilizing Citywide Ambulance services.
• Determine appropriate response levels and allocate resources based on system demands.
• Monitor and document unit response times, investigating and reporting any exceptions.
• Maintain a strong understanding of company policies, procedures, and medical protocols.
• Demonstrate proficiency with all Communication Center equipment, including phones, radios, computers, and tracking systems.
• Obtain insurance or managed care authorizations as needed.
• Communicate and document any service delays.
• Work collaboratively with customers and ancillary providers to meet service needs.
• Determine medical necessity for ambulance services.
• Follow all deployment plans accurately and consistently.
• Maintain a calm, professional, and non-emotional tone in a high-stress environment.
• Adapt to frequent changes, competing demands, and unexpected events.
• Assist field units with routing instructions when needed using all available mapping resources.
• Perform all duties with professionalism, reliability, and integrity.
• Sit for extended periods as required by the role.
• Work effectively and independently while maintaining positive relationships with partners, patients, and customers.
