The Mid-Level Donor Engagement Coordinator plays a key role in strengthening relationships with CityTeam’s mid-level donors through consistent, personalized outreach. This position manages a portfolio of approximately 400 donors, primarily via phone calls, handwritten notes, emails, and occasional tours or in-person meetings.
This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, organized, and able to follow through consistently, while also being a strong storyteller who communicates CityTeam’s mission with warmth and clarity. A personal connection to CityTeam’s mission or passion for the population we serve is highly valued.
This role is part-time and non-exempt, reporting to the VP of Development and Marketing. It focuses on relationship-building, donor care, and retention, rather than high-level strategy or department leadership.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Build Mid-Level Donor Program
· Identify and track engagement strategies to cultivate donors toward their full giving potential.
· Define long-term vision and short-term goals; engage stakeholders and utilize metrics to measure progress.
· Identify, qualify, and cultivate mid-level donors ($500 ) and prospects for recurring, upgraded, or renewed support.
· Facilitate seamless transition of mid-level donors into the major donor category.
· Plan and execute cultivation events with Development Directors for donor acquisition, appreciation, and upgrade efforts.
2. Enhance Monthly Giving Program
· Identify, qualify, and cultivate recurring monthly supporters, focusing on relationship-building and improved donor experience.
General job responsibilities:
· Meet or exceed KPIs in donor engagement and giving dollars.
· Collaborate with Marketing/Communications for messaging consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.
· Work with Development/Marketing Director to align programs and leverage efforts.
· Partner with Development and Marketing teams to prioritize partnerships, share impactful stories, and ensure donor retention.
· Expand understanding of supporter motivations through research, surveys, and data analysis.
· Monitor budgets and program performance; ensure accurate reporting and timely gift acknowledgment.
· Model and champion core values: teamwork, accountability, humility, joy, and innovation.
· Manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and delegate effectively.
· Handle all information with strict confidentiality.
· Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements
Required Education and Experience
· 4-year degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or other related field
· 2-year minimum experience with strategic partnerships or donor development
· Strong foundation in direct marketing (segmentation, response optimization, project management, & communications development)
· Professional written and spoken communication skills
· Highly skilled at one-on-one engagement, particularly by phone and email
· Expert in presenting to and engaging with small and large groups of people
· Well versed at creating proposals based on donor interests
· Computer literate
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook
· Valid CA Driver’s License with a clean record
Preferred Education and Experience
· Experience with customer relationship management system, customer or donor database Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge
· Familiarity with online giving and customer/donor email platforms (such as QGiv and Classy)
· Experience with non-profit strategic partnership development
· Familiarity with CityTeam programs and services, food distribution, addiction, and homelessness

Work Conditions
· This job typically operates in a professional office environment with standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines
· This role will regularly travel to strategic partnership meetings and meet in a variety of venues, including restaurants, offices, and homes
· Days and hours of work will be typical business hours with occasional weekends and evenings

· Must have an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
· Must be active in a local Christian body of believers or at least pursuing community with other Christ-followers
· Must have compatible theology on major issues of CityTeam's Statement of Faith
· Must be committed to serving God and the body of Christ
