Parking Technician (Weekend Support / Part-Time)

Location: Richmond w/ Ability to Travel within 50 miles

Department: Operations / Maintenance

Reports To: Maintenance Manager or Facility Supervisor

Employment Type: Part-Time

Schedule: Primarily weekends and on-call as needed

Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and dependable Part-Time Parking Technician to perform routine maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and minor repairs across our parking facilities. This position plays a key role in ensuring operational uptime during weekend hours by responding to technical issues such as malfunctioning gates, ticket dispensers, pay stations, and access control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to service calls for malfunctioning parking equipment (gates, pay stations, ticket machines, etc.)
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, or software issues on-site
• Perform minor repairs and adjustments on access and revenue control equipment
• Complete routine inspections of parking facility systems to ensure functionality and safety
• Report major issues or needed parts to management and escalate to vendors when required
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and time spent
• Support operations staff with system restarts, resets, and customer service during downtime
• Communicate effectively with customers, management, and remote support as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications a plus
• Previous experience with mechanical or electronic equipment repair preferred
• Familiarity with parking access and revenue control systems (PARCS) a strong plus
• Basic understanding of low-voltage systems, wiring, or networking desirable
• Ability to work independently, especially during off-hours/weekends
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions

Schedule:

• Primarily weekends (Saturday–Sunday) with potential on-call support during holidays or after-hours as needed
