Experienced Foster Care Case Manager

Overview

CityLinC Ministries is seeking an Experienced Foster Care Case Manager to join our growing Foster Care Program. This position is designed for professionals who have already completed Michigan Positive Solutions for Independence (PSI) training and have prior experience managing foster care cases.

The ideal candidate is passionate about serving children and families, possesses a strong understanding of Michigan's foster care system, and is able to manage a caseload with confidence and minimal onboarding. This individual will work closely with foster families, biological families, community partners, and licensing professionals to ensure children receive the support, stability, and advocacy they deserve.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned foster care caseload while maintaining compliance with state licensing requirements, agency policies, and contractual expectations.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify strengths, needs, and appropriate services.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized service plans that support safety, permanency, and well-being.
• Maintain regular contact with children, foster families, biological families, and service providers to monitor progress and provide ongoing support.
• Advocate for the rights and best interests of children involved in the foster care system.
• Collaborate with Child Protective Services, licensing specialists, schools, medical providers, therapists, attorneys, and other community partners.
• Provide education, guidance, and resources to foster parents while helping them navigate challenges and celebrate successes.
• Prepare and maintain timely, accurate, and thorough case documentation, progress notes, and required reports.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, court hearings, and case reviews as required.
• Uphold the mission, vision, and values of CityLinC Ministries in every interaction.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or another qualifying field that meets Michigan foster care licensing requirements.
• Completion of Michigan Positive Solutions for Independence (PSI) training.
• Previous foster care case management experience is required.
• Working knowledge of Michigan foster care licensing standards, child welfare regulations, and best practices.
• Experience collaborating with Child Protective Services, foster families, biological families, and community partners.
• Excellent organizational, documentation, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple cases independently.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to build trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel locally.
• Alignment with and respect for the mission and faith-based values of CityLinC Ministries.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children who have experienced trauma.
• Experience supporting children with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or complex family dynamics.
• Strong knowledge of community resources available to children and families in Southwest Michigan.
