Job Description
City View Charter School hosts our own before and after school program. This program serves our Kindergarten through 5tn grade families, following our school calendar. The teacher/coordinator will help facilitate activities and programs under supervision of the Assistant Director. They will help plan and prepare for the program as well as ensure a safe and enriching environment for students during the before and after school program. The coordinator will also run the online registration and billing program.
In order to be successful, the coordinator works closely with licensed staff and administration to promote and execute school year goals and tasks. Additional duties may be assigned.
This position would be a part-time position for an average 18 hours per week. The job responsibilities would be primarily after school, between the hours of 2:30-5:30, Monday-Thursday, and between 12:00-5:30 on Friday.
Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma
- Experience with early childhood education
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in the use of computer and Internet based applications, including but not limited to email and systems applications
- Commitment to learning and teaching through the EL Education instructional model
- Maintaining CPR & First Aid certification is required
- Proficient in the use of computer and internet based applications, including but not limited to email, billing software and systems applications
Preferred:
- Bachelors Degree
- Knowledge of early childhood education and development
- Experience working in a Before/Afterschool program
- Classroom Management skill set
- Experience working with diverse and inclusive settings
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Evidence of an understanding of the school culture and environment, and a commitment to carrying out the vision, mission and belief statements of City View Charter School
- Work with the curriculum and facilitating the activities of the program
- Supervise student behavior in a developmentally appropriate manner to address issues related to student respect, responsibility and safety
- Clear communication with parents, teachers, administration and other school staff to ensure collaboration and consistency
- Familiarity with all City View safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Working with other staff members to ensure safety of students at all times
- Supervising and supporting students with homework of various subjects
- Working with students to resolve peer conflicts
- Knowledge of early childhood education
- Ability to work with students and community members (i.e. parents, staff)
- Operating basic office equipment and programs (i.e. email, Google Drive, printers, laminators)
- Confidentiality rights of students
- Ability to work with and resolve conflict with students
- Supervise student behavior in a developmentally appropriate manner to address issues related to student respect, responsibility and safety
- Having experience working with youth, specifically Kindergarten and 1st graders.
- Demonstrating basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
- Ability to build and support positive relationships with students and staff
- Support the meaning of EL Education
- Other duties as requested
Other Professional Responsibilities:
- Maintain the integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, and school operations
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Follow all City View protocols for reporting absences
- Follow all City View policies and work procedures
- Participate in required meetings and trainings related to the position
- Demonstrate professionalism when working and communicating verbally and nonverbally with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and/or backgrounds

Time Commitment and Compensation:
Part-time (18 hours per week)
M-Th from 2:30-5:30,
Fridays 12:00-5:30
Pay range $18- $25 per hours worked, based on experience
Required participation in Oregon PERS
