City Theatrical, a leader in innovative lighting and electronics for the entertainment industry, is seeking an experienced Electronics Assembly Supervisor to lead our Electronics Assembly Department. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who enjoys mentoring a team, improving processes, and ensuring high-quality electronic products are delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily activities of the Electronics Assembly (EA) Department to meet production, quality, cost reduction, training, and maintenance targets.
- Schedule production of electronic products to maintain sufficient inventory levels and stocking quantities.
- Lead, train, and mentor the electronics assembly crew, including SMT and through-hole operators.
- Maintain department inventory accuracy within 1% and communicate inventory needs to Purchasing via the Requisition System.
- Oversee SMT, through-hole, and PCBA manufacturing processes, including automated assembly and soldering procedures and documentation.
- Drive continuous process improvement to reduce production costs and improve EA quality.
- Plan and prioritize production, manage daily workflow, and ensure jobs are completed on time, on budget, and to specification.
- Maintain and oversee quality procedures, records, and department infrastructure.
- Manage preventive and periodic maintenance on EA machinery, tools, and test equipment, including tracking and logging capital equipment.
- Develop and administer employee training programs; maintain and update training records; perform performance evaluations.
- Participate in recruiting and hiring, enforce company policies, and document HR-related issues for direct reports.
- Report on on-time work order performance, quality improvements, training performed, maintenance completed, and other key departmental metrics.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus 4–6 years of electronics assembly/fabrication experience and 2–4 years of supervisory experience;
- or an Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field, plus 3–5 years of electronics assembly/fabrication experience and 1–3 years of supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of electronics production procedures, processes, and department equipment.
- Ability to interpret and follow assembly drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency with hand tools, small power tools, and other tools used in electronics assembly.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, motivation, and leadership skills.
- Proven ability to manage workflow, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of and commitment to electrical safety practices.
- PCB assembly skills and strong problem-solving and creative-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
