We are seeking a Field Supervisor to join our team, reporting directly to the Regional Operations Manager in Southern California. In this role, you will supervise traffic control jobsites throughout the Southern California Territory, primarily in the Greater LA area, under the direction of operations management at your assigned operating company.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to jobsite safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include inspecting traffic control jobsites, identifying safety risks and field quality issues, recognizing training needs and staffing gaps, and reporting scheduling inefficiencies.
This role is essential in ensuring all traffic control field operations comply with company safety standards and state regulations, while also promoting team training and development to consistently meet or exceed client and public expectations.
Requires some travel throughout Southern California.

Essential Functions
- Provides ongoing support and guidance to Traffic Control Technicians in the field.
- Provides guidance to City Rise dispatchers to ensure efficient scheduling and deployment of personnel based on their technical skillsets.
- Conducts on-site evaluations/inspections of employee performance, compliance, and quality standards, and provides actionable recommendations based on findings.
- Engages with customers to identify operational strengths and areas for improvement in traffic control setups.
- Delivers constructive feedback, coaching, and performance guidance to field staff.
- Assists with monitoring performance metrics and recommends actionable improvements.
- Collaborates with the Training Department to develop and implement training programs.
- Coordinates closely with Dispatch and Scheduling teams to ensure fair and effective technician utilization.
- Leads or supports specialized training sessions as required.
- Conducts pre-job site walks and pre-job planning reviews as directed.
- Performs additional field and administrative duties assigned by the supporting manager.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience overseeing direct reports, preferably within the Traffic Control industry or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD) is required.
- Proven ability to mentor and develop field staff effectively.
- Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Forms, and Salesforce preferred.
- ATSSA Certified Flagger certification required. Company willing to recertify internally if needed.
- ATSSA Traffic Control Technician (TCT) and Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) certifications required. Company willing facilitate training and certification.
- ATSSA Flagger Instructor Training (FIT) certification preferred. Company willing to facilitate training and certification.
- Familiarity with regulations and standards from agencies such as Cal/OSHA, Department of Transportation (DOT), and Department of Industrial Relations (DIR).
- Comfortable providing training, assisting with investigations, and speaking to groups.
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
- OSHA 500 certification preferred.
- Strong supervisory, analytical, writing, and research skills required.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
- Experience with scheduling and resource allocation preferred.
- Capable of operating medium-duty trucks and towing trailers/equipment when necessary.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel throughout Southern California as needed.
- Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
