Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting HVAC systems and related equipment across commercial and industrial properties. This role requires a strong mechanical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure optimal operation of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. A valid driver license is required for travel between job sites. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects involving HVAC design, plumbing, refrigeration, and property maintenance.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment such as ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Conduct equipment repairs involving electrical components, wiring, welding, and plumbing as needed.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment to identify faults and ensure proper system functionality.
- Install new HVAC components or systems in accordance with HVAC/R standards and safety protocols.
- Read and interpret schematics and HVAC design plans to execute maintenance tasks accurately.
- Assist in the installation of new property maintenance systems including appliances or mechanical equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during all maintenance activities.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, and parts used.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician with a background in HVAC, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing, or property maintenance.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in equipment repair, welding, boiler operation, and appliance repair.
- Familiarity with construction principles and ability to read schematics and HVAC design plans.
- Experience working with HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units and refrigeration systems.
- Knowledge of field service procedures along with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues efficiently.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters effectively.
- Prior mechanic experience preferred; certification in HVAC or related fields is advantageous.
